Noah Kasper, the Victoria musician and songwriter who endured multiple organ transplants and sometimes went on stage connected to an intravenous drip, has died at age 24.
Kasper died Thursday at Victoria's Royal Jubilee Hospital. More than four years ago, he received six organs in a marathon 15-hour surgery at Toronto General Hospital.
Kasper was given a new liver, pancreas, stomach and small bowel in the rare transplant on Jan. 22, 2000.
He was reportedly only the second person in Canada to survive such an operation, which required 100 units of blood.
Stepfather Derek Kasper, said Friday that Noah's fragile health took a final downturn after he returned from a weekend trip to Vancouver visiting friends two weeks ago.
